Ex-Con, Author, CBT Practitioner, JD Rutherford

In this episode, I sit down with ex-con-turned-certified-cognitive-behavior-practitioner, (CBT) JD Rutherford. JD's first run-in with the law occurred when he was just 14 years old and it sent him down a path that involved dangerous robberies, organized criminal activity, lengthy prison stays, intimate exposure to life and death, and a harrowing enslavement by other criminals.

In and out of prison most of his adult life, JD had a watershed phone call with his mother that completely changed his life and inspired the heartfelt outpouring of love into his first book, "Dear Mom, Dear Son: Separated by bars, not the heart."

JD recounts his raw, incredible journey with his unapologetic vulnerability and gripping storytelling. And in his own words, "My incarceration was a reflection of my incarcerated state of mind. It projected onto my physical world by hijacking my perception, especially of things of the negative and reactive. Stepping out of the shadows was extremely difficult. Because until that phone call with my mother, I didn't even know my mind was incarcerated."

Now, JD is on a relentless mission to expose the punishing incarceration of the mind – and then to liberate it.

Do not miss this episode of the PK Experience.

Ok THAT WAS AMAZING. He is transformation personified. He is empathy in action.
